After working closely with an external agency on BLP’s rebrand it was the in-house team’s task to strategically roll-out and apply the new brand across all designed elements. I was heavily involved throughout the whole process, exploring and making key decisions for the brand to ensure it would work over all mediums.
Here are example spreads from various BLP brochures showing how the new brand was applied.
The Busy Lawyers Programme is an annual award-winning BLP event involving a fictitious company fraught with legal issues, tackling each scenario in an innovative and exciting format. 2016 focussed on the hotel chain ‘Torte Towers’ which found itself haunted by past decisions. BLP’s presentations explored these legal issues that had come back to kill the company.
GC2B is a round table event run by The Lawyer (legal publication) and BLP. Each round table focuses on the different stages of a general counsel’s career journey. It was my role to create the branding for the event and design an advertorial to promote the first round table, followed by a write-up shortly after documenting the findings of the discussion.
It was imperative that the initial designs for the articles in The Lawyer had longevity and could be run as a long-term reoccurring feature.
Here are example spreads from the collated round table results booklet created for BLP.
This rebrand project included logo, stationery and website design.
K&D Specialist Interiors creates bespoke, hand-crafted furniture pieces. The majority of their work lies in residential properties valued between £8m – £15m, based in the UK and abroad.
The award-winning real estate event demonstrated how to manage the key legal risks involved with a high profile portfolio investment and development. Taking the fictitious dilapidated Passé Point tower and transforming it to the coveted skyscraper Après Point - complete with roof top ice bar and ski slope.
The development was plagued with legal issues which the lawyers tackled through a series of presentations. Whilst in the auditorium and unknown to the audience, the building site client networking area was transformed into the Après Point ice bar.
This project was a rebrand of a small brewery based in essex. Design elements included bottle and pump labels, website landing page, t-shirts and stationery.
Pitching for work is a daily process at BLP and for the most important projects the design team were asked to assist and give the various documents more impact.
The following examples show bespoke cover designs, diagrams and legal processes created to help win pitches for the company.
Skadden’s London office hosted its 30th anniversary party at Kensington Palace. The event was attended by 140 clients, with a performance by the Chineke! Junior Orchestra. I worked on a range of design elements for the project, from logo design, invitation and event collateral to artwork gifts for partners to remember the occasion.
To show their knowledge and expertise BLP creates an annual publication, informing clients of emerging themes in financial regulation. With dry heavy content, my task was to bring the piece to life and redesign our current publication style. This also needed to bridge the gap for our new brand which had not been released.
Skadden’s recent graduate recruitment campaign entitled ‘Carve Your Path’ required me to create a range of print and digital materials for all of our European and Asian offices. Design outputs included event stands, adverts, internal communications and brochures.
Here is a selection of projects I have worked on whilst at a creative agency whose particular focus is on corporate clients in the finance sector. Projects ranged from over 100 page fund publications, advertisements, branding, animation and event stand/collateral design.
